BUFFALO – Hall of Fame Quarterback Jim Kelly’s cancer has returned, according to his wife Jill, who broke the news via Instagram.
“The cancer is back. We are shocked, heartbroken, sad, angry, confused, and just darn tired. Yet, despite how we feel, we KNOW that God is a promise maker and keeper,” she posted.
In early February, Kelly had his gallbladder removed. The Buffalo great was at the Super Bowl in Minnesota last month to help raise awareness and money for cancer patient organizations.
Kelly spent his entire 11-year NFL career with the Bills, compiling a 101-59 record in 160 career games.
He finished with 35,467 passing yards and 237 touchdowns, both still far and away the most all-time in Bills history. Kelly famously led the Bills to four consecutive Super Bowls from 1990-1993, only to lose all four times.
