TV’s Penny Marshall Dies At Age 75 From Diabetes Complications

HOLLYWOOD – Award winning actor and director Penny Marshall has died at the age of 75 from diabetes complications, according to her family.

One of the stars of Laverne and Shirley, Marshall went on to direct such box office hits as Big, Awakenings and A League of Their Own.

Marshall garnered three Golden Globe nominations for playing tough LAverne DiFazio in Laverne and Shirley, a 1970s television hit.

Her film Awakenings won three Oscars, including Best Picture.
