ORCHARD PARK – The Buffalo Bills will look to shake off last week’s 21-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins, as they will host the New York Jets on Sunday.
Buffalo (4-8) won its last meeting against the Jets, 41-10, in November.
Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen is coming off of one of his best performances of his young career last week at Miami, a game where he accounted for 366 total yards from scrimmage.
In seven starts, Allen has passed for 1,223 yards and five touchdowns. Allen is also second on the team in rushing yards with 389, and he leads the team with four rushing touchdowns.
Wide receiver Zay Jones has caught 41 passes for 459 yards and four touchdowns. Jones is first on the team in all three categories.
Rookie linebacker Tremaine Edmunds leads the Bills defense with 82 tackles.
Bills linebacker Lorenzo Alexander, at age 35, has a team-leading 6.5 sacks. After tallying just nine sacks in his first nine years playing for the Redskins, Cardinals, and Raiders, Alexander has totaled 22 sacks in his three years as a Bill.
Matt Milano and Jordan Poyer are tied for the team lead with three interceptions.
The Jets (3-9) are currently riding a six-game losing streak.
During their skid, the Jets have been outscored by their opponents, 168-78, an average margin of defeat of 15 points per game.
Like the Bills, the Jets are led by a rookie quarterback in Sam Darnold.
Darnold has missed the last three games due to a sprained foot.
So far in nine starts, Darnold has a 3-6 starting record. Darnold has passed for 1,934 yards and 11 touchdowns. Darnold, however, has also thrown a league-leading 14 interceptions.
Isaiah Crowell leads the Jets with 680 rushing yards. Crowell also leads the team with six rushing touchdowns.
Quincy Enunwa has 35 receptions for 427 yards, both number one for the team.
Robby Anderson and Christopher Herndon are tied for the team-lead with three touchdown receptions.
Andre Roberts leads the league with an average of 15.3 yards per punt return, and has a 78-yard punt return touchdown. Roberts also leads the league with 26 kickoff returns, as well as a league-leading 665 kick-return yards.
The Jets defense has scored three defensive touchdowns this season.
Jets linebacker Avery Williamson leads the defense with 98 tackles.
Jordan Jenkins leads the team with six sacks.
Darron Lee has a team-leading three interceptions.
