ORCHARD PARK – The Buffalo Bills signed free-agent punter, Matt Darr, and released punter Colton Schmidt for the second time this season.
Schmidt was brought back by the Bills after punter Corey Bojorquez landed on IR in October.
In his three-game return, Schmidt punted the ball 16 times, averaging 42.3 yards per punt with a net average 33.8.
Darr signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free-agent out of Tennessee in 2015. Darr beat out long-time Dolphins punter Brandon Fields.
In Darr’s two-year tenure with the Dolphins, he punted 182 times, averaging 46 yards a punt. Darr’s career long was 70 yards.
Before the start of the 2017 season, Darr was released after losing his job to then-rookie Matt Haack.
Darr has been out of the NFL ever since his release.
