CCIDA Director Leaving Post December 15th

JAMESTOWN-Kevin Sanvidge, Administrative Director/CEO of the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) and Director of the Chautauqua County Department of Planning and Economic Development, has announced that he will be completing his term of service to Chautauqua County effective December 15, 2017.

“It is with mix emotions that I announce my retirement as County Executive Vince Horrigan’s term is completed at the end of the year,” said Sanvidge.  “It has been an honor to serve under Vince’s incredible leadership and tenacious focus on improving the quality of life in Chautauqua County.  I have also been honored to serve under Mike Metzger, Chairman of the CCIDA Board of Directors, and the entire CCIDA Board.”

“Mike’s optimism and creative vision afforded our team to move in new directions to ensure the economic growth of Chautauqua County. I believe a strong foundation has been built in both Planning and Economic Development and the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency that will continue to exceed economic development expectations in our region.  There would not have been the level of success without the total dedication to excellence from both teams.”

Sanvidge took over the helm of the CCIDA and Department of Planning and Economic Development on May 27, 2014 following a successful career in business and industry. He was appointed by outgoing County Executive Vince Horrigan.

Metzger had this to say: “Thanks to Kevin and his team, the CCIDA is financially sound, providing a strong foundation for future economic development. Kevin’s vision, creativity, enthusiasm, and tremendous work ethic generated exceptional economic growth and new business opportunities for Chautauqua County.”

Mike Metzger, Chairman of the CCIDA Board of Directors said, “Thanks to Kevin and his team, the CCIDA is financially sound, providing a strong foundation for future economic development. Kevin’s vision, creativity, enthusiasm, and tremendous work ethic generated exceptional economic growth and new business opportunities for Chautauqua County.”

“I thank Kevin Sanvidge for his dedication and service to the citizens of Chautauqua County,” said Horrigan. “Kevin skillfully guided the reins of Chautauqua County economic development efforts during a period of unprecedented growth.  Under his tenure, Chautauqua County was recently ranked second of the eighteen Western New York counties for the value of 56 investment projects totaling over $2.8 billion.”

“Kevin has improved relationships with our area businesses and economic development community and his service and leadership has been invaluable to our County. As I leave office, our economic development success is clearly evident across the County and it is ready for County Executive Elect George Borrello to elevate Chautauqua County on to even greater heights.”

Borrello, who was apart of the original search committee that recommended Sandvidge for the job, also thanked and complimented him for his service during an interview with WNYNewsNow Friday.

“I thank Kevin Sandvidge for his service to Chautauqua County and the great strides made under his leadership,” Borrello said. “Rich Dixon, the CCIDA’s Chief Financial Officer, will work with me in an interim roll while we explore candidates.”

The CCIDA is a New York State public authority charged with attracting, retaining, and building capacity in Chautauqua County businesses.
