JAMESTOWN – St. Patrick’s Day is just a day away, and the Chadakoin River will be turned green in celebration of the holiday on Saturday.
Mayor Sam Teresi made the announcement recently at a City Council meeting. The event is hosted by the Jamestown Community Chamber of Commerce.
Jamestown’s annual tradition began back in the early 2000s but slowly phased out. A parade used to be a part of the celebration, but because of the construction of the South Main Street Bridge, the parade won’t occur this year.
The river will turn green at 10:30 A.M in the JAMA parking lot. There will also be a St. Patrick’s Day dash at 9 A.M at the Northwest Arena.
