County Executive George Borrello Takes Youth Fishing On Chautauqua Lake

MAYVILLE – There could be a “Gone Fishing” sign on the door of Chautauqua County Executive George Borrello’s office today.
That’s because Borrello took the winners of the 2018 Fishing Essay Contest on a fishing trip on Chautauqua Lake.
As of 10:30 a.m.. Borello reported one walleye and one bass was caught. Borello, himself, caught a worm, he said.

Conner Degnan caught a Walleye. Mattea Hilliker caught a bass.
The two won Chautauqua County’s 26th annual Fishing Essay contest earlier this year.
This year’s essay contest topic: “Describe your first fishing adventure or what you would like your first fishing adventure to be; who you went with, where you went, and what you caught.”

Two grand prize winners went on a fishing trip with Borrello and at least eight winners from each grade received a spin cast fishing pole kit.
