Former Falconer Fire Chief Passes Away

FALCONER – A former fire chief at the Falconer Volunteer Fire Department passed away unexpectedly this week.
According to an obituary posted by Falconer Funeral Home, Wayne Oste, 64, of Jamestown, passed away Monday at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital.
Oste served as Fire Chief, First Assistant and was an active member of Fire Police in the Falconer Volunteer Fire Department.
When not responding to calls, Oste worked at NYP Ag Services In Conewango Valley.
Off the clock, the grandfather of four enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Calling hours for friends will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Falconer Funeral Home.
A fireman’s memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
A service will be held the next day at 11 a.m. in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Timothy J. Hoyer, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where Oste attended, will officiate.
Memorials may be donated to the Falconer Fire Department or the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
