Three Of Four Public Housing Units In County Pass State Inspection

MAYVILLE – Three of four public housing units in Chautauqua County passed their state inspections in the last five years, according to the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
A passing score is 60. Over the last five years, only one county-located public housing unit failed to pass the state inspection. The Joseph Steger Apartments in Dunkirk scored a 40 in its 2015 inspection.
Passing in the county were Bell Tower, in Dunkirk, with an 82 score, the Hotel Jamestown and High Rise, with a 66, and the Chadakoin Centre with a 66.
HUD carries out physical inspection of all public housing and multi-family HUD units.
