911 Hangup Leads To Arrest In Ashville

ASHVILLE – On Sunday, New York State Police arrested Clint Apthorpe, 44, of Ashville, charging him with three counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment following an investigation into a 911 hangup.

Troopers responded to a residence in Ashville for a 911 hang-up call and placed Apthorpe under arrest. Troopers said that Apthorpe threw the victim to the ground and twice prevented her from calling 911, destroying the cell phone. Apthorpe was processed at the Jamestown barracks, arraigned in the town of North Harmony Court and released on his own recognizance. Apthorpe is scheduled to reappear in the town of North Harmony Court at a later date.
