Allegany Man Accused Of Leading Troopers On Chase

ALLEGANY – A man is accused of leading troopers as they attempted to pull him over for allegedly speeding on I-86 last Saturday according to the New York State Police. 

Damian Greaves, 23, of Allegany, was reportedly traveling 90 mph in a posted 65 mph zone. Troopers say they pulled Greaves over after about four miles after he was delayed in traffic.

 During the interview, police said they smelled alcohol on Greaves breath. He also allegedly admitted to being intoxicated. Greaves submitted to a breath test where he registered a 0.18% BAC.

Greaves was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and other traffic violations

Greaves was arraigned in Allegany Town Court where he was released on his own recognizance by the judge to appear in court at a later date.
