Cassadaga Man Charged With Assault Following Domestic

CASSADAGA – A 42-year-old Cassadaga man was charged with assault following a domestic dispute earlier this month.

New York State Police said Matthew Cassatt pushed and struck a woman causing a facial injury. When troopers arrived they said the woman was bleeding from the face area.

Furthermore, Troopers said Cassatt took the woman’s phone and fled the area.

Cassatt eventually turned himself into State Police.

In addition to the assault charge, Cassatt is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child as police said the incident occured in front of three minors. He is also charged with criminal mischief and petit larceny.

State Police said Cassatt was released under the supervision of Chautauqua County Probation and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Stockton Court at a later date.
