Cosby Sentenced To Three to 10 Years In Prison

NORRISTOWN, PA. – Comedian, actor and Doctor of Education, Bill Cosby has been sentenced to three to 10 years in prison on his conviction of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman.
Cosby, 81, was also designated a violent sexual predator, prior to sentencing. The designation is a step where that status has to be designated or rejected prior to sentencing.
The judge denied bail after the proceedings Tuesday. The Entertainer’s Attorneys are already planning to appeal the conviction.
Cosby faced a maximum of 10 years in prison after both sides agreed to merge the charges because they all come from the same incident.
State sentencing guidelines call for 22 to 36 months plus or minus 12 months depending on the circumstances.
Prosecutors sought five to ten years in prison, while Cosby’s defense asked for house arrest, saying Cosby’s age and failing vision are mitigating facts.
Cosby chose not to address the court during his sentencing.
