SHERIDAN – Charges are pending and two men were flown to a local hospital following a head-on collision Wednesday evening on Route 20, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department.
Police said Jonathon Eddings, 25, of Silver Creek, and Brian Nowak, 31, of Fredonia were sent to hospital by helicopter after the crash. A condition update was unavailable.
One of the vehicles was operated by Eddings and occupied by Nowak, police said. The second vehicle involved was operated by Nicholas Coppola IV, 32, of Silver Creek. Eddings’ vehicle crossed into the oncoming traffic lane and hit Coppola’s vehicle, Deputies said.
Faith Bunnell, 32, of Silver Creek, and two young females, all passengers in Cappola’s vehicle, were transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Accident reconstruction was called to the scene to assist with the investigation. This accident is still under investigation. In addition to the Sheriff’s Department, responding to the scene were the Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Team, New York State Police, ALSTAR, Sheridan Fire Department, Fredonia Fire Department and Silver Creek Fire Department.
