Details Emerge Regarding Aggressive Targeted Crime Initiative

JAMESTOWN-Statistics obtained by WNY News Now provide a sample size of progress made by the Jamestown Police Department’s “Crime Deterrent Initiative.”

Police Chief Harry Snellings said the following numbers reflect six details conducted in the month of May:

  • 20 arrests
  • 1 DWAI Drugs
  • Drug arrests include two counts of 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (B-Felony) , one count of 5th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (D-Felony) and eight counts of 7th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • 42 vehicle stops with 17 citations issued

The “Crime Deterrent Initiative” was launched by Snellings last year in response to quality of life issues throughout the N. Main St./ Prendergast Ave. corridor.
