Dunkirk Man Faces Felony Charges Following Alleged Vandalism

DUNKIRK – A Dunkirk man is facing felony charges after New York State Police said he tried to punch down a door in Kennedy over the weekend.
Police alleged 30-year-old Steven Rice punched the door to the caller’s residence, shattering the glass.
Rice then allegedly broke into a nearby pole barn where he threw multiple items causing damage.
The man was treated at UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital for injuries to his hand.
Rice is charged with criminal mischief and burglary.
Once released from the hospital, Rice was processed, arraigned and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
