Dunkirk Police Charge Man After Alleged Physical Struggle

DUNKIRK – A routine traffic stop lead to a resisting arrest charge after a scuffle with authorities last Monday, according to the Dunkirk Police Department.

Trevon D. Tripp, 20, no address, given, was charged with false impersonation, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Police said during the stop, Tripp locked himself in his vehicle and refused to cooperate with police. Officers subdued Tripp with the use of a taser gun. Police said during the arrest, bystanders tried to intervene to pull police from Tripp. The disposition of their actions was not released by police, but Tripp was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail after appearing in Sunkirk City Court.
