Erie County Murder Suspect Allegedly Found With Shivs

BUFFALO – 26-year-old Jamell Chapman, who is facing charges of murder and robbery in the 2016 death of a Buffalo woman, was allegedly discovered with two shivs in his Erie County Holding Center cell recently, according to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office. 
The shivs, reportedly made from sharpened plastic and fastened with cloth, were seized. Chapman was charged with a felony count of possessing dangerous contraband in prison.
In addition to the criminal charges, Chapman will face facility disciplinary action.

Chapman, a Niagara Falls native, is being held without bail on the charges from Buffalo Police.
