Falconer Man Arrested After Alleged Domestic Incident

JAMESTOWN – At about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jamestown police arrested  Joel E. Acevedo, 24, of Falconer, on multiple charges following an alleged domestic incident which started in a moving vehicle near the James Prendergast Library and ended on East Second Street in front of City Hall, police said.
Acevedo is alleged to have damaged a woman’s windshield and poured hot coffee in her car. Police said he tried to take the woman’s cellphone.
Police said the woman was forced to dodge traffic and had to abruptly stop the car, which endangered a minor in the car.
Acevedo was charged with three counts of second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal tampering, and two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. He was remanded to the city jail pending arraignment. The Town of Ellicott Police Department assisted JPD in the case.
