JAMESTOWN-A Farm Fresh Foods employee directed dispatch towards the man who stole goods from the 3rd St. market Saturday afternoon according to Jamestown Police.
The employee reportedly followed 24-year-old Juan C. Ortiz, Jr., who was on a bicycle, with his vehicle. Officers eventually stopped Ortiz on the corner of E.2nd and Pine Sts. per police.
An investigation revealed City Court previously issued a bench warrant for Ortiz’s arrest. Ortiz allegedly gave officers a false name prior to the investigation.
Ortiz was held pending arraignment on charges of 2nd degree Criminal Impersonation and Petit Larceny.
The suspect was previously arrested during an alleged domestic dispute last November. Ortiz was, then, charged with 2nd degree Criminal Trespass and 5th degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.
