Foot Chase Leads To Multiple Charges In Lakewood

LAKEWOOD – A Dunkirk man who allegedly led Lakewood-Busti Police on a foot chase through the Chautauqua Mall parking lot on Monday, now sits in county jail.
Police said Luca Brownlee, 26, no address given, was stopped at the Lakewood Walmart by members of the asset protection team after allegedly shoplifting at about 5 p.m. Monday.
Brownlee, according to police, exited the building and walked west through the parking lot. Walmart staff contacted Lakewood-Busti Police, who found him in the Olive Garden parking lot.
Police said he fled on foot and was pursued. Police used a taser in attempting to stop Brownlee, who was captured in front of Planet Fitness.
The man was charged with petit larceny, third-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest and third-degree burglary. He was jailed following arraignment in the Town of Busti Court. He is being held in lieu of $15,000 bail.
