Frewsburg Man Charged With DWI After Austin Hill Road Accident

FREWSBURG – New York State Police Troopers have charged a Frewsburg man with driving while intoxicated after he allegedly left the scene of an Austin Hill Road accident Saturday.

Charged was Richard Whisner, 50, of Frewsburg, for Driving While Intoxicated.

Troopers and the Town of Carroll Police Department responded to Austin Hill Road for a report of a two-car motor vehicle accident.

Investigation revealed that Whisner was driving west on Austin Hill Road when he struck an unoccupied vehicle, causing extensive damage to both.

Police said Whisner fled the scene but was located by the Troopers soon after in an intoxicated condition. Whisner was placed under arrest and transported to SP Jamestown where he refused to provide a breath sample. Whisner was then processed, arraigned in the town of Carroll Court and released on his own recognizance. Whisner is scheduled to reappear in the town of Carroll Court next month.
