JAMESTOWN – A city man is accused of leading police on a short foot pursuit after exiting the stolen vehicle that he was allegedly driving Wednesday afternoon on Barrows Street, according to the Jamestown Police Department.
Jordan J. Thayer, 20, was identified by police as the driver of the vehicle, which was reported stolen earlier in the week in the Town of Ellicott. The still-moving vehicle ended up striking a parked car as Thayer exited, per JPD’s report.
Officers reportedly found a switchblade and a quantity of marijuana in the stolen vehicle. Thayer was also allegedly impaired by drugs while driving.
Thayer was charged with fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, second degree obstructing governmental administration, third degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of marijuana and other traffic violations.
Thayer was transported to city jail pending arraignment.
