Jamestown Police Arrest Falconer Man After Vehicle Chase

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown police have arrested Daniel S. Babyak, 45, of Falconer following a vehicle chase when he allegedly failed to stop for officers at 3:20 a.m. Thursday.
Police said they saw Babyak driving on Steele Street in a minivan with no front license plate. The officers attempted a traffic stop on Fairview Avenue near West Third Street but Babyak attempted to flee.
Police pursued Babyak into the Town of Ellicott where his van stopped on the yard of a Merlin Avenue home. Babyak was taken into custody and taken to the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.
He is charged with third-degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer, Installation and Operation of an Interlock Device, second-degree Unlawful Operation and several vehicle and traffic violations.
