Jamestown Police Release More Information On Threat

JAMESTOWN – City Police provided more details regarding a threat to Jamestown Schools Thursday morning.

A concerned parent reportedly tipped the Washington Middle School administrators of a possible threat. Members of the school staff immediately notified the School Resource Officer (SRO) who, then, informed JPD’s command staff.

An investigation was immediately initiated, per police, while administrators from Superintendent Bret Apthorpe’s office and Police Command staff coordinated safety measures, which included the “lock out.”

The individuals, whom police say are juveniles, were in police custody within an hour. Jamestown Police say their investigation is ongoing, but no pedigree information will be released due to the age of the individuals.
