JPD Chief: Targeted Crime Detail Headed Back To Prendergast

JAMESTOWN-A Crime Initiative program that lent a lot of resources to quality of life issues in and around the Prendergast Ave. corridor before moving elsewhere is headed back to the area following a shooting last week according to Jamestown Police Chief Harry Snellings.

The city’s top-cop made the announcement at a Neighborhood Safety Night at Christ First United Methodist Church.

Last week an 18 year-old man opened fire on the corner of 8th and Prendergast Ave. in broad daylight. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.

The suspect, identified as 18 year-old Eduardo Rivera,  was taken into custody following a brief foot chase.
