JPD: Man Threatens Self-Harm During Standoff

JAMESTOWN – A 33-year-old man, whose name wasn’t immediately released, reportedly held officers and negotiators at bay as he threatened to harm himself during a standoff at 100 Lakeview Ave. Tuesday morning according to Jamestown Police.
The man was reportedly armed with several knives. Officers were able to end the situation by deploying a “Taser” brand Electronic Control Device, and he was safely taken into custody.
No physical injuries were reported for the man, but he was transported to UPMC WCA by Alstar Ambulance for evaluation. Police say criminal charges are pending.
