MAYVILLE — Justin Haffa, of Cheektowaga, was found not guilty of first-degree attempted murder of a Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputy and first-degree aggravated assault and first-degree robbery by a Chautauqua County jury Wednesday afternoon.
Haffa was convicted of third-degree robbery.
Judge David Foley presided over Haffa’s second trial after he was given a mistrial in September after his defense argued it did not receive a DNA report used by the District Attorney’s Office.
Haffa was arrested Sept. 11, 2016, after he crashed his vehicle in the town of Pomfret. Prosecutors argued Haffa attacked a sheriff’s deputy as she was administering a field sobriety test and later fled the area.
