JAMESTOWN – A Conewango man accused of sexually assaulting a female Tuesday morning at 111 Marion St. was previously convicted for first-degree rape (Class B) in 2003.
Dennis L. Park, Jr., 33, served time in the Gowanda Correctional Facility, according to the New York State Correctional Database.
Park, Jr. is listed as a Level 3 Sex Offender, per Chautauqua County’s Official Sex Offender Registry.
A Level 3 Sex Offender is deemed by the court system as someone who has a high risk of repeat offense, and a threat to public safety exists, according to the state’s criminal justice website.
Park was taken to City Jail and charged with first-degree criminal sexual act, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing, criminal obstruction of breathing and forcible touching.
More charges are expected for Park as the investigation is ongoing. A check of the Chautauqua County Jail Inmate Registry revealed Park was remanded without bail to County Jail Wednesday afternoon.
