JAMESTOWN-A city man was arrested for the third time since 2015 during a traffic stop Thursday evening on Sturges St. at Chestnut St. per the Jamestown Police Department.
Luis M. Moreno, 27, was reportedly discovered with a suspended identification card. Moreno was placed into custody, where officers allegedly seized metal knuckles and concentrated cannabis in his possession.
Moreno was charged with 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and 3rd degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.
The suspect is in city jail pending arraignment. State Police and JPD reportedly collaborated in the stop as part of a detail.
Moreno was arrested twice in 2015 for drug charges. In April 2015, Moreno was charged during a traffic stop with Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Police reportedly discovered a loaded pistol, marijuana and a quantity of cash inside a vehicle containing Moreno and 22-year-old John C. Tufino. Tufino was also charged with 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance as he was allegedly found with cocaine.
Moreno was arrested again in October 2015 during a raid of the lower apartment at 541 Crescent St. Moreno and Kristen Trippy, 24, were allegedly discovered with the dangerously potent fentanyl.
Both were charged with 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Moreno is currently on NYS Parole per JPD.
