Man Charged In Domestic, Woman Found On Floor In Pool Of Blood

JAMESTOWN – A City of Jamestown man is in jail following a physical domestic dispute on Broadhead Avenue Tuesday morning.
Jamestown Police said Carl L. Settle, 45, held the woman down on a couch, placing his forearm on her throat which reportedly caused her to pass out.
Settle also allegedly ripped a steak knife from the victim’s hands while in the kitchen, causing the victim to sustain a hand laceration.
When officers arrived, they found the woman unconscious lying face down on the kitchen floor in a pool of blood. She eventually regained consciousness when EMS arrived.
Settle is charged with third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
The man is currently listed on the Chautauqua County Jail inmate list on $10,000 bail.
