Man Jailed After Allegedly Unhooking Gas Line And Pouring Lighter Fluid On Bed With Children Present

JAMESTOWN – A city man is behind bars after a allegedly unhooking a natural gas line to a stove and threating to harm those inside a 10th Street house Friday, according to Jamestown Police.

Justin B. Traver, 37, was located outside the house when officers arrived shortly before 7 p.m.
Police and Jamestown firefighters entered the house and evacuated several people including children.
After firefighters fixed the gas line, police said they learned Traver had unhooked the line with the intention of harming those inside.
Traver also allegedly threatened someone with a knife and poured lighter fluid onto a bed.
Traver is charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment, menacing, criminal mischief, criminal tampering and obstructing governmental administration.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff Inmate list Traver is in county jail without bail.
