Mayville Man Charged With Drugs, Weapon’s Charges After Deputies Find Him Asleep At The Wheel

CHAUTAUQUA – A 32-year-old Mayville man is facing drug and weapon’s charges after sheriff deputies found him passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in Hartfield Wednesday morning.
Chautauqua County Sheriff Deputies performed a well-being check on Joshua Bemis.
With the assistance of K9 Drake, deputies discovered ten grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, packaging material, hydrocodone pills and a small amount of marijuana.
Bemis also had an electronic stun gun.
He was charged with third-degree felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminally using drug paraphernalia, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlicensed operation.
Bemis was arraigned in the Town of Chautauqua Court and held without bail.
