FREDONIA – Robbery, assault, resisting arrest, and drug overdoses were all part of the unsanctioned “Fred Fest” last week according to the Fredonia Police Department.
The agency posted several sheets on their Facebook page Tuesday containing the names of 67 individuals charged with various crimes between Wednesday, April 26th and Sunday, April 30th.
Fredonia Police responded to nearly 323 incidents during the weekend.
Some of the charges are shocking considering the advanced warning party goers had from law enforcement. For example, more than 30 open container charges were filed by police.
Police also said there were two drug overdoses and a car chase during the four-day period.
The “Fred Fest” was banned in 2015 after the event became a nuisance according to officials at the State University of New York at Fredonia.
Fredonia Police wore body cameras during the festivities and had a magistrate to hear cases as they came in.
