BUFFALO – An Olean man was sentenced to five years in federal prison Thursday on charges of possessing and sending child pornography.
Shawn Lebrecht, 35, began sending undercover police images of child pornography last August, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Buffalo.
On August 25, 2016, federal authorities raided Lebrecht’s East Green Street residence.
During the search, agents recovered a laptop computer that contained over 300 images of child pornography. Some of the images depicted pre-pubescent children and violence.
“Hopefully, the prospects of serving five years in federal jail for even looking at this stuff is a strong enough incentive to deter others from doing what Mr. Lebrecht did,”said U.S. Attorney PJ Kennedy.
“These heinous crimes cause irreparable damage to our children and society. Homeland Security Investigations will continue to aggressively pursue those who commit these acts,” said Kevin Kelly, Special Agent-in-Charge of HSI Buffalo.
The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent-in- Charge Kevin Kelly.
