Over 140 Arrests Made During Fourth of July Weekend

JAMESTOWN-Over 140 people were arrested over the Fourth of July Weekend within the State Police’s Zone 3 per New York State Police Captain Eric Balon.

Balon said around 120 arrests were drug-related. The drugs reportedly included Concentrated Cannabis, Methamphetamine, LSD, PCP, Cocaine, Heroin, Hashish, Ketamine and various prescription pills.

Five arrests were reportedly for driving while intoxicated and eight arrests for Driving While Ability Impaired.

Michael Mirek

 

 

Dan Locey

Michael Mirek, 26, 308 Lord St., Dunkirk, was reportedly stopped June 30th.  Mirek reportedly showed signs of intoxication and was asked to exit his vehicle.

Marijuana was observed on the driver’s seat  Further investigation revealed a large garbage bag in the vehicle that contained a variety of drugs.

Mirek and his passenger, Dan Locey, 28, Ellicott Rd., Brocton, were both charged with 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (Possession with intent to sell) a Class B Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.

Mirek was additionally charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.

Both subjects were arraigned and committed to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Zachary Chizewick

Troopers stopped Zachary Chizewick, 22, of 1018 E. 3rd St., Erie, PA, Saturday. Troopers reportedly noticed a smell of marijuana in his vehicle.

Further investigation revealed passenger Samantha Hickoff, 22, of W. 13th St., Erie PA had a bag of marijuana and a pipe with marijuana residue in her possession.  Troopers reportedly located an illegal, loaded handgun and counterfeit currency in the vehicle.

Chizewick was arraigned in the Town of North Harmony Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on $50,000 bail.  Hickoff was issued an appearance ticket and released.

Troopers arrested Lindsey Little, 26, of Elm St, Salamanca Sunday for two counts of  4th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class C felony) and 7th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance

Little was reportedly found to be in possession of a plastic container containing a quantity of Phencyclidine (PCP), a container containing Concentrated Cannabis, as well as quantities of Psychedelic mushrooms, Methamphetamine, and a variety of pills.  Bail was set at $25,000 and Little was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.

Police reportedly pulled over a vehicle Sunday and immediately noticed a strong odor marijuana during a roadcheck executed by troopers and the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force in the Town of Sherman.

Jacob Braden

Passenger Jacob Braden, 19, of 2324 Union Ave, Erie PA, was allegedly observed attempting to conceal item(s) in his waistband as officers spoke to the driver.

Officers asked Braden to exit the vehicle and as he did, he reportedly struck one of the officers and attempted to flee on foot.  Braden was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

A pat-down search reportedly revealed Braden was in possession of a large quantity of Hallucinogenic mushrooms, Marijuana and Concentrated Cannabis as well as a large amount of currency.

Braden was also allegedly found to possess a digital scale, grinders and smoking pipes.

Braden was charged with 2nd degree assault (Class D felony), 2nd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree (Class A felony), 5th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class D felony), Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor) and Resisting Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor).

Braden was arraigned in the Town of Sherman Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.  No bail was set and he is to appear back in the Town of Sherman court on July 5, 2017 at 4:00pm.
