JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police said they’ve charged a person in connection with Friday afternoon’s robbery of the 7/11 convenience store on East Second Street.
Reinaldo Lugo, 48, of Jamestown, was arrested and charged with third-degree robbery and grand larceny. Lugo allegedly took a quantity of cash from the store. He also allegedly stole a vehicle earlier in the day on Kipp Street, which was later recovered in the Allen Park area.
Lugo reportedly attempted to conceal his face, but investigators were able to identify him by using external surveillance.
“The rest took some legwork from our patrol officers investigators to actually locate him which they did early this afternoon,” explained Jamestown Police Captain Robert Samuelson.
“The motive for this case is money to purchase drugs,” said Samuelson. “We are glad to have a quick resolution to this by locating and charging the suspect.”
The Captain appreciates tips from the community on this case. Lugo is in city jail awaiting arraignment.
