Police: Meth Discovered Within Reach Of Jamestown Infant

JAMESTOWN-Two people are facing charges after they allegedly left drugs within reach of an infant. 

Jamestown Police Department report officers responded to a call at 38 12th Street to assist Child Protection Services with a possible violation of an order of protection.

Police reportedly discovered methamphetamine  and drug paraphernalia in close proximity to a 6-month-old baby.

Police arrested 33 year-old Ashley Burke and 28 year-old James Williamson Jr. during the incident and charged both with endangering the welfare of a child and 7th degree drug possession.

According to authorities, Williamson Jr. did have a valid of order of protection to stay away from the address where he was discovered.

When reached by phone on Wednesday afternoon, a City Court Clerk said that bail was set for both defendants and that both Williamson and Burke are scheduled to appear on an “IDV” docket in October.
