Police Seize 25 Bags of Heroin During Traffic Stop

JAMESTOWN-A Jamestown man was arrested Thursday evening after he was discovered with 25 bags of heroin during a traffic stop on North Main St. according to the Jamestown Police Department. 

Alexander Mercado, 38, no address given, was charged with 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (B-Felony), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and No Seatbelt.

Mercado was reportedly transported to City Jail.

The New York State Police and JPD collaborated with the traffic stop under what is called a Targeted Enforcement Crime Deterrence Patrol in the Prendergast Ave.
