JAMESTOWN-Five people were arrested during separate targeted enforcement patrol stings Thursday and Friday according to the Jamestown Police Department.
Christopher S. Byrne, 55, and Heather L. Caylor, 28, were detained during a reported traffic stop for inadequate tail lamps on Prendergast Ave. near Crossman St. Police reportedly seized a quantity of methamphetamine, heroin, prescription pills and marijuana.
Both were charged with 5th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, three counts of 7th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Byrne was additionally charged with Operating a Vehicle with Inadequate Tail Lamps.
Both were transported to city jail pending arraignment.
Jamestown Police reportedly collared three men during a separate traffic stop on Strong St. near Fulton St. Thursday. Police said they seized a quantity of crystal methamphetamine and a hypodermic needle from the vehicle.
Robert W. Wappat, 24, Martin L. Wenzell, 30, (both of Mayville) and Casey A. Saeger, 28, Jamestown, were each charged with 3rd degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possessing a Hypodermic Needle.
Wappat was additionally charged with a vehicle and traffic violation.
All three are in city jail pending arraignment.
