Salamanca Man Charged In Bar Shooting

ELLICOTTVILLE – A Salamanca man was arrested in connection with a Saturday evening shooting near the corner of Washington and Monroe Streets, according to the New York State Police. 
Damien M. Marvin, 25, allegedly shot a 41-year-old male in the abdomen area with a legally possessed Glock during a fight that reportedly started inside a nearby bar and made its way outside.
Marvin remained on scene and surrendered to officers, according to police. He is charged with first-degree assault.
Police said the victim was taken to Erie County Medical Center for injuries and is in critical condition.
Marvin was arraigned remanded to Cattaraugus County Jail on $50,000/100,000 bail.
Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Ellicottville Police Department, NYSP Major Crimes, Forensic Investigation Unit assisted in this investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
