Standoff With Fredonia Police Ends Peacefully

FREDONIA – A Dunkirk robbery suspect holed himself up in a apartment on Wednesday as police negotiated his surrender, according to Fredonia Police.
Police said they received information that Walter Duprey, wanted on several charges out of Dunkirk, was staying at 112 Eagle St.
Duprey reportedly refused to come out when ordered to do so by officers.
Three people who were inside of the apartment during the incident were freed by Dupree, police said.
The incident ended an hour later with Duprey surrendering and subsequently being taken into custody.
Police said Duprey was turned over to Dunkirk Police following the standoff.
