Structure Fire Nets Three Arrests For Animal Cruelty

JAMESTOWN-The three occupants who safely exited a Mt. Vernon Place house fire Thursday morning were taken into custody for alleged animal cruelty according to the Jamestown Police Department.

Jamestown Police said one of the two dogs rescued from the house was found to be suffering from extreme neglect. The dog was reportedly observed to have extremely matted hair, was covered in feces with open sores, and had a large cyst on its abdomen.

The dog was taken to a local veterinarian for treatment.

David M. Wright, 31, William L. Wright, 39, and Lisa A. Bortz, 40, were charged with the following:

Overdriving, torturing, and injuring animals; and failure to provide proper sustenance.
