Two Face Drug Charges Following State Police Stop

JAMESTOWN – Brandon Sorenson, 24, of Jamestown and Lacharrise Clifford, 21, of Dunkirk, N.Y., face drug-related charges following a traffic stop on Route 60, according to New York State Police.

On Saturday, State Police arrested Sorenson with fifth-degree felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and, both he and Clifford, with unlawful possession of marijuana. Police said while speaking to the occupants, Troopers smelled marijuana from inside the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, Clifford was found to be in possession of a marijuana cigarette and Sorenson with two bags containing 3.5 grams of cocaine and a bag containing 3.5 grams of marijuana, police said.

Clifford was released with an appearance ticket and a traffic ticket and is to appear in Town of Ellicott Court later.  Sorenson was transported to Jamestown where he was processed, arraigned in the Town of Ellicott Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
