Two Men Face Several Felony Charges Related To Theft Of Checks And Credit Cards

SHERIDAN-Two men were charged in connection with a larceny that occurred on Rt. 5 Sept. 16th according to the County Sheriff’s Office.

Philip Tirone, 38, Center St., Forestville, reportedly used one of the multiple stolen credit cards to unlawfully withdraw money from an ATM in Hanover. Tirone and Robert Stepowski, 45, Perrysburg, also allegedly attempted to cash stolen/forged bank checks at a Silver Creek bank.

Tirone was charged with 4th degree Grand Larceny, two counts of 3rd degree Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification, 2nd degree Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, 2nd degree Forgery, 5th degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, 4th degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and Petit Larceny.

Stepowski was charged with 2nd degree Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument and 5th degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.

Both were remanded to county jail on bail.
