Vehicle Chase Ends In Crash, Gerry Man Jailed By Troopers

ELLINGTON – A Gerry man is behind bars after allegedly fleeing State Police Troopers and crashing his vehicle.
Troopers said they have charged Stephen Trusel, 32, of Gerry, for endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, second-degree harassment, reckless driving and multiple traffic violations.
Troopers responded to a residence in Ellington for a report of a domestic incident Wednesday. Investigation revealed that Trusel pushed the female victim in the presence of a child prompting the victim to call 911.
Troopers said Trusel fled the scene but was seen by Troopers on Gerry-Ellington Road. A traffic stop was attempted by Troopers but Trusel failed to comply and a pursuit was initiated. Trusel crashed his vehicle and fled the accident scene. Trusel was located later in the day and arrested. Trusel was processed at State Police barracks, Jamestown, arraigned in the Town of Ellery Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
