DUNKIRK-A wanted city man led police on two foot pursuits during an incident deriving from a traffic stop on Lake Shore Drive East near Armadillo St. Tuesday evening according to the Dunkirk Police Department.
Walter S. Duprey, 33, wanted for multiple outstanding robbery warrants, reportedly attempted to hide under a blanket in the backseat. Duprey allegedly told the female driver to take off after he locked the door.
Duprey was reportedly removed from the vehicle after police were able to get the female to turn off the engine. He allegedly began to struggle with officers before taking off on-foot.
Numerous agencies set up a perimeter within the block before flushing Duprey out. He, then, allegedly led officers on another foot pursuit but was ultimately caught and subdued near the intersection of Pangolin and Pine Sts.
Duprey faces charges of 2nd degree Obstructing Governmental Administration, two counts of resisting arrest and one count of 7th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance as he reportedly dropped a small bag of cocaine on the floor of the vehicle. Duprey also faces the multiple outstanding warrants.
Duprey is in City Jail without bail pending arraignment.
