Woman And Minor Face Multiple Animal Cruelty Charges In Dog’s Death

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police are continuing the investigation into an animal cruelty case in which one dog died and nine others were taken to a local shelter.
Christine R. Emming, 40, of 1101 Prendergast Ave., and a 16-year-old male, were each charged with 10 counts of animal cruelty.
Police said a procedure to determine the cause of the dog’s death could lead to more charges as the investigation carries forward.
The residence had no utilities, no running water and no dog food, according to investigators. The police press release said the residence was in deplorable condition.
Emming and the minor male were charged with overdriving, torturing and injuring animals and 10 counts of failure to provide proper sustenance.
Police responded to the address late Saturday evening.
The two were remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail, pending arraignment. New York State Police assisted on the call.
