Woman Pleads Not Guilty To Attempted Murder Of 4-Month-Old Daughter

GREAT VALLEY – A Cattaraugus County mother plead not guilty to attempted to kill her four-month-old daughter.
Makayla Mix, 23, plead not guilty to second degree attempted murder, two counts of first degree assault, second degree assault, third degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
The Cattaraugus County DA’s Office said that on August 4th Mix caused serious injuries to her daughter’s eye area inside her Kill Buck home.
The baby was taken to the hospital following the incident. That’s when the Sheriff’s office got involved after the hospital notified Child Protective Services.
Less then two weeks later Mix was arrested for the alleged crime.
Mix remains at Cattaraugus County Jail on $50,000 bail.
Police said the four-month-old is recovering and doing okay.
