JCC Names A New President

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Community College has named its next president.
The college announced Thursday Dr. Daniel DeMarte was appointed by the SUNY Board of Trustees.
School officials have been looking for a new president since Dr. Cory Duckworth announced his retirement.

DeMarte is an Angelica native who is currently the Executive Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at Tidewater Community College in Norfolk, Virginia.
He was not the board’s first choice though. In March, the trustees announced three finalists including DeMarte.
The trustees nominated an undisclosed finalist from the list for the position in April, but that candidate withdrew from consideration.
DeMarte will take the role of president on July 30.
